Gemak Group Wins Second Prize in R&D Category at 2025 Productivity Project Awards

Gemak Group, which operates Türkiye’s first officially approved R&D centre in the shipbuilding industry, has crowned its advanced engineering, innovation and productivity-driven efforts with another prestigious award.

The company was also presented with the “Productivity Award-Winning Enterprise Certificate” by the Minister of Industry and Technology.

Synchronous motion control across 128 axes

As part of the award-winning project, the Gemak R&D Centre developed an advanced transport and positioning system designed for the safe and precise handling and alignment of mega-scale structures.

The system offers an installed load-handling capacity of 10,800 tonnes, scalability of up to 26,100 tonnes through its modular configuration, fully synchronised motion control across 128 axes and positioning accuracy of ±0.1 millimetres.

The technology enables the controlled horizontal and vertical movement of large and complex structures, combining safety, precision and operational efficiency in shipbuilding, offshore and heavy industrial projects.

Gemak Group continues to extend its R&D activities beyond the improvement of its existing operations, transforming its engineering expertise into practical and scalable technologies for the shipbuilding, maritime, offshore and heavy-industry sectors.
