Iran Places 77 Vessels on Sanctions List in Strait of Hormuz

Iran is increasing its inspections of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. The Persian Gulf Strait Administration (PGSA) has published an updated list of vessels allegedly failing to comply with the transit rules set by Iran.

It was stated that vessels on the list could face sanctions such as fines, detention, or seizure of the vessel during their subsequent passages. While the initial list included 45 vessels, the number rose to 77 with the latest update.

Iran also warned companies doing business with the vessels on the list, insurance organizations, and other maritime actors. These entities could also be subject to sanctions, while no details were provided regarding the countries to which the vessels belong.
