Ukraine attacks two oil refineries in Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that attacks were carried out on two oil refineries in Russia’s Bashkortostan and Yaroslavl regions.
In recent months, attacks targeting oil refineries, energy infrastructure, and maritime assets have increased in the war between Ukraine and Russia. Most recently, Ukraine carried out attacks on two oil refineries in Russia’s Bashkortostan and Yaroslavl regions. In a statement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, “Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the aggressor’s facilities located 1,300 kilometers from the front line. The Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Bashkortostan was targeted. In the Yaroslavl region, approximately 700 kilometers from our border, the Slavneft-YANOS refinery was also hit.”

Stating that attacks were also carried out in the Black Sea, Zelenskyy said, “Our responses to Russian aggression in the Black Sea were also successful. In particular, two military patrol boats and shadow fleet vessels were targeted. I thank all the soldiers of the Defense Forces who are systematically developing our long-range capabilities, thereby increasing the possibility of diplomacy. Russia must choose peace.”
