Drone Attack on Coal Ship Bound for Trabzon
The Turkish-flagged dry bulk carrier Mv Reyhan Sarı, carrying coal to Trabzon, was hit by a drone attack off Novorossiysk. One crew member was killed and three others were injured.
The Turkish-flagged cargo ship Mv Reyhan Sarı, registered at the Istanbul Port Registry and bearing IMO number 9543342, was attacked off Novorossiysk while sailing to discharge a cargo of coal loaded at Russia's Port of Taman in Trabzon.
According to the information obtained, the drone attack caused material damage to the vessel, while one Turkish crew member working in the engine room was killed at the scene. Three crew members injured in the attack were taken to the nearest medical facilities in the area after receiving first aid, and their treatment is ongoing.
Following the attack, security measures on board the vessel were increased, while search and rescue operations and technical investigations are continuing in the area where the incident occurred. Official statements from the relevant authorities regarding the incident and the condition of the injured personnel are expected.
