Turkish Yachting Gains Strength in Europe
Noyan Mutlugil, one of the experienced figures of the Turkish yachting industry, has been elected to the Board of Directors of ECPY, one of the leading organizations in the European professional yachting industry.

The Turkish yachting industry has achieved another significant international milestone. ECPY (European Committee for Professional Yachting), founded in France and bringing together professionals from the yachting industry for more than 30 years, elected Noyan Mutlugil, one of the most experienced professionals in the Turkish yachting sector, to its Board of Directors at its latest General Assembly.
Noyan Mutlugil, Founding Partner of Mutlutur Yachting and Vice President of TYBA, is the first Turkish yachting professional to be elected to the Board of Directors of ECPY.
For more than 30 years, ECPY has brought together key stakeholders and professionals within the European yachting industry, including yacht brokers, charter companies, yacht management firms, shipyards, and other maritime and yachting professionals, creating a broad and well-established professional network.
The appointment of a Turkish yachting professional to the Board of this organization is an important indication of the position Turkey has achieved in the international yachting industry in recent years, as well as its growing influence and recognition within the sector.
A Significant Step for Turkey’s International Presence in Yachting
This development is considered a major milestone not only because a Turkish industry professional has taken a seat on the governing board of an international professional organization, but also because it represents the direct involvement of the Turkish yachting industry in professional structures and decision-making platforms across Europe.
Today, Turkey is no longer simply a cruising destination for foreign yachts or a holiday destination for charter guests. It has developed a strong and well-established professional yachting ecosystem covering yacht construction, yacht management, brokerage, charter, refit and repair, as well as a wide range of international yachting services.
For this reason, greater representation of the Turkish yachting industry within European professional organizations is of great importance in terms of strengthening Turkey’s international presence and influence in the sector. Mutlugil’s position on the ECPY Board of Directors is regarded as one of the key symbols of this new era.
Through his new role, Mutlugil will contribute Turkey’s knowledge, expertise and industry experience to the European yachting community, while also bringing developments and best practices from the European yachting market to Turkey. In this respect, his appointment is expected to serve as a bridge connecting the professional yachting communities of Turkey and Europe more closely.
Regulatory developments directly affecting the Turkish yachting industry—including changes in legislation, commercial yacht regulations, charter regulations, taxation, port and marina procedures, flag-state requirements and operational matters—may not always be closely followed by European industry professionals.
Through Mutlugil’s role on the ECPY Board, the objective will be to facilitate the exchange of up-to-date information regarding developments, practices and regulatory experience in Turkey with European industry counterparts, while further strengthening mutual knowledge sharing and professional cooperation.
Turkey Is Not Merely a Market, but an Important Stakeholder
The other side of this exchange will be the transfer of new professional standards, regulatory practices, operational approaches and industry experience from Europe to Turkish yachting professionals.
This two-way exchange of knowledge is expected not only to strengthen communication and cooperation among industry professionals, but also to further enhance Turkey’s visibility, recognition and influence within the European yachting ecosystem.
Mutlugil’s election to the ECPY Board of Directors is therefore regarded not only as a personal professional achievement, but also as an important step forward for Turkey’s visibility and representation within the European yachting industry.
According to Mutlugil, Turkey is no longer merely a market within the European yachting industry; it has become an important stakeholder.
