Iran: Strait of Hormuz to Remain Closed Until Conditions Are Met
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened until the blockade and oil sanctions are lifted and military operations are halted.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that the United States must fulfill the conditions agreed upon for the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened, stating that the strait will remain closed unless the blockade and oil sanctions are lifted.
According to a statement posted on the Telegram account of the Iranian Parliament Speaker’s Office, Ghalibaf made remarks in Parliament regarding the status of the Strait of Hormuz.
Ghalibaf said, “The Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened unless the blockade is lifted, frozen assets are released, oil sanctions are removed, threats and military operations on all fronts are brought to an end, and the other terms of the agreement are fulfilled.”
Ghalibaf stated that, under the agreement, the temporary lifting of the blockade and the establishment of a ceasefire had provided Iran with an important opportunity to strengthen its economic resilience and rebuild its defense capabilities. He added that Iran had benefited from the process.
Ghalibaf said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to inflict an even heavier defeat on the enemy than before, depending on the scale of its actions and interventions.”
