We are not slowing down with our young fleet
YMN Tanker General Manager Yaman Sen: "One of the things I am always proud to talk about YMN Tanker fleet is the average age of our fleet.
In 2019 and 2020, we added two newbuildings to our fleet and one newbuilding in 2021 and 2022, thus reducing the average age of our fleet. As of 2024, the average age of our ships is 8.3. We aim to further reduce this average by adding newbuildings to our fleet in the future."
Speaking about the establishment and development of YMN Tanker, General Manager Yaman Şen said, "We are a maritime company that has been growing on a journey since 2012. We started our journey with only six tankers in the beginning and today we continue with a fleet of 13 vessels. While expanding our fleet over the past 12 years, we have always maintained our commitment to safe operating principles and modern maritime standards. With each new vessel that joins our fleet, we have adopted the vision of exhibiting superior performance and making a difference in the industry with our safe and secure operation standards. In order to keep up with the rapid changes in the maritime sector and to ensure that safe operations are maintained, we constantly follow the innovations in the sector and adapt our operations accordingly. As a company, we have certain core values and ideas to ensure that we maintain effective and safe vessel operations in accordance with ethical values. Respect, commitment to principles, honesty and sincerity are among YMN Tanker's core values. In order to support the continuous development and growth of our company and our employees, we support personal development, maintain our commitment to universal ethical values, and take care to be reliable and loyal. While respecting different cultures and traditions within the multinational structure of the maritime industry, we continue with honesty and sincerity in our vision, mission, values and work ethics. At the same time, we show extra sensitivity to safety and environmental protection."
The average age of our fleet is 8.3
Speaking about the locations they serve and the fleet structure, Şen said, "As is known, the maritime sector is an international field of work. For this reason, our ships provide international services all over the world. However, I can say that we mainly operate in the Mediterranean, Far East, Baltic Sea and the ARA region. Our fleet consists of 13 Ice Class 1A Chemical/Oil Tankers. 10 of these vessels are 8400 DWT, one is 9400 DWT and two are 26.000 DWT. One of the things I am always proud to talk about the YMN Tanker fleet is the average age of our fleet. In 2019 and 2020, we added two newbuildings to our fleet and one newbuilding in 2021 and 2022, reducing the average age of our fleet. As of 2024, the average age of our vessels is 8.3. We aim to further reduce this average by adding newbuildings to our fleet in the future. In addition, new regulations aiming to control carbon emissions, such as CII regulations and the EU ETS directive, as well as new topics such as the use of alternative fuels are taking place in the market. With these issues in mind, we are currently conducting market research on newbuildings that comply with the regulations. At the same time, we follow the current market conditions and needs and continue our efforts to increase tonnage in line with these. We always closely follow the technological developments in the sector and aim to take appropriate steps accordingly."
We continuously improve ourselves
Speaking about YMN Tanker's goals for the future, Şen said, "As YMN Tanker, our goals for the future are to understand and keep up with the ever-evolving and changing nature of the maritime industry, to manage change in a safe and quality manner, and to successfully navigate within these dynamics. By closely following the technological developments and changes in the industry, we aim to keep pace with and even lead these changes. However, in this process, it is also among our priorities to preserve our traditional maritime customs and traditions and not to compromise our safety-based values. Our goal is to take our place in the international maritime sector as one of the companies that are recognized and provide quality services. In addition, we aim to operate in an environmentally sensitive manner by adhering to the principles of sustainability and to be a leading maritime company in industry standards. In order to achieve these goals, we are constantly improving ourselves with our professional team, adopting the best practices and creating innovative solutions. As YMN Tanker, we will continue to work with determination to consolidate our leadership in the maritime industry and build a sustainable future in the sector."
