Uraloğlu: 15 Turkish-Owned Ships Waiting in the Strait of Hormuz
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has shared the latest update regarding Turkish-owned vessels currently located in the Strait of Hormuz.

Following the attacks launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz to vessel transits. As one of the world’s most critical maritime trade routes, the closure left numerous ships stranded in the region, including those owned by Turkish companies.
Minister Uraloğlu announced that 15 Turkish-owned ships are currently waiting in the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that communication with the crews remains ongoing: “We are in contact with all personnel on board the ships. There are no problems at the moment,” he stated.
His remarks highlight the impact of regional tensions on Turkey’s maritime sector. Experts warn that the uncertainty in the Strait of Hormuz poses significant risks not only for energy transportation but also for global trade.
