Three vessels were targeted in drone attacks in the Black Sea. Ukraine claimed that the attacks were carried out by Russia. One of the vessels was identified as the Panama-flagged Turkish bulk carrier Victress, and two people were reported killed in the incident.

The vessels targeted were flying the flags of Panama, Palau, and Belize. The Panama-flagged ship was reported to be the Turkish bulk carrier Victress. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba stated that the vessel, which was en route to a Ukrainian port during the night, came under attack by Russian unmanned aerial vehicles.

Kuleba said the attack caused a fire on board the Panama-flagged ship and resulted in the deaths of a 58-year-old cook and an Egyptian national among the crew. He added, “Eight seafarers, including citizens of Turkey and India, had to be evacuated by lifeboat. The vessel sustained significant damage.”

Kuleba also reported that Russian forces attacked vessels flying the flags of Palau and Belize. No casualties were reported in those incidents, and the damaged ships were able to continue their voyages.
