Petrol Ofisi Group and Hicri Ercili Launch the First Zero-Emission Tanker: WOLF 1 Hits the Water

Developed with Turkish engineering and marking a first in the sector, WOLF 1 aims to strengthen Turkey’s sustainable maritime vision and provide a competitive edge in international waters. The project includes the construction of four fuel supply vessels in total, with WOLF 1 being the first of the series.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Durmuş Ünüvar, Petrol Ofisi Group CEO Mehmet Abbasoğlu, Hicri Ercili Group Chairman Murat Ercili, local government representatives, and leading figures from the maritime and energy industries.

Petrol Ofisi Group CEO Mehmet Abbasoğlu stated:

“Turkey’s merchant fleet ranks among the world’s top 10. Maritime transport plays a strategic role in achieving Turkey’s goal of full energy independence. Launching WOLF 1, designed by Turkish engineers, is a source of pride for us. Three more vessels are currently under construction. Our zero-emission tankers will set an example in regional and global waters. We are delighted to partner with Hicri Ercili on this project.”
