Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander’s Senior Adviser Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi made statements regarding the latest situation in the Strait of Hormuz. Naqdi said, “The Strait of Hormuz is closed and the Iranian Army has full control over the strait. This situation will continue until Iran’s legitimate demands are met.”

“Illegal transit routes will be closed soon”

Commenting on illegal activities in the Strait of Hormuz, Naqdi said, “Some people smuggle oil using small boats and transfer the oil to tankers. However, the amount of oil being smuggled is extremely small. Therefore, it is not possible to say that the Strait of Hormuz is open to such activities. We will also deal with this issue.”

Naqdi stated that some routes had been established in the strait for illegal transit and said, “Soon, the limited number of illegal transit routes created by blasting and destroying rocky areas in the Strait of Hormuz will also be closed.”

“The limited range of our weapons is not due to technical reasons”

Naqdi also made statements regarding the range of Iran’s weapons. He said, “The limited range of our weapons is not due to technical reasons, but stems from the policy we pursue. Iran’s weapons range is determined according to our needs, in line with the decisions of the authorities and the Supreme Leader (Mojtaba Khamenei). Whenever the authorities and the Supreme Leader give permission, we can increase the range of our weapons according to the needs on the ground. Since our weapons are domestically produced, we can increase their range and power according to the needs and requirements of the battlefield.”
