Container ship targeted in armed attack in Red Sea
The Singapore-flagged CUL Klang was targeted by gunfire from a small vessel off Yemen. No crew members were injured in the attack.

The Singapore-flagged CUL Klang container ship came under an armed attack while sailing in the southern Red Sea. The vessel, operated by a China-based company, was reportedly harassed by a small vessel and subsequently came under fire while heading north off the coast of Yemen.
No injuries were reported among the crew of the vessel, which has a capacity of approximately 2,400 TEU. The small vessel reportedly left the area following the attack, while the CUL Klang continued its voyage.
The incident reportedly occurred in the southern Red Sea, north of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, while an investigation is underway.
Security risks to commercial vessels remain in the Red Sea and around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, with maritime authorities continuing to urge vessel operators to exercise caution while transiting the region.
