Demolition Shock for Major Companies in Aliağa

The municipality has moved to demolish the non‑compliant sections of industrial facilities, including those belonging to Ege Çelik, Nemport Port Operations, Batı Liman, Çiftay Construction, Habaş, Kılıçlar Scrap, Bayburt Group, Kardemir Steel, Selmarin Port, as well as more than 20 ship‑breaking companies.

Aliağa Municipality has launched a tender for the demolition and dismantling of unlicensed, non‑compliant, or zoning‑violating structures within the district. At the tender to be held on February 24, demolition decisions taken between 2017 and 2025 will be implemented for 685 locations, including some of Turkey’s largest industrial and port enterprises.

According to a report by Ercan Çelebi of tekreferans.com, the places to be demolished include not only residences and workplaces belonging to individuals, but also facilities with non‑compliant sections belonging to Ege Çelik, Nemport Port Operations, Batı Liman, Çiftay Construction, Habaş, Kılıçlar Scrap, Aliağa Special Education Services, Odak Construction, Bayburt Group, Kardemir Steel, Selmarin Port, as well as more than 20 ship‑breaking companies including Şimşekler and Avşar.

In the tender, the type of demolition work is specified as the machine‑based demolition of masonry and horasan structures with cement mortar, reinforced and non‑reinforced concrete constructions, along with the dismantling of all kinds of wooden roofs and iron installations. The specifications state that the sites to be demolished were identified based on the updated list prepared by the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, and demolition decisions were taken accordingly.
