Costa Cruises Strengthens Its Strategic Commitment to Türkiye
Italian hospitality and innovative Sea & Land experiences mark a powerful start to the 2026 summer season from Galataport Istanbul

As Istanbul steadily advances toward becoming a global hub for cruise tourism, summer season activity at the ports is gaining momentum. One of the most striking examples of this growth is Costa Cruises, which reaffirmed its long-term strategic commitment to the Turkish market with a special event held at Galataport Istanbul.
Costa Cruises celebrated the launch of its 2026 summer season with an exclusive onboard reception attended by more than 150 Turkish tourism professionals and business partners. During the event, the company shared its strategic vision for Türkiye, its summer season plans, and future goals. Emphasizing its deep-rooted presence and strong operational base in Türkiye, Costa highlighted the growing interest of Turkish travelers in cruise holidays, underlining that cruising offers a safe, comfortable, and reliable travel alternative.
Costa Fortuna to Operate 17 Voyages from Galataport This Summer
On May 11, Costa Cruises launched its first Greek Islands itinerary departing from Galataport Istanbul. Throughout the 2026 summer season, the company will operate a total of 17 voyages from Türkiye, reinforcing its strong local operations. At the event, Costa introduced products and experiences tailored to the expectations and travel habits of Turkish guests.
Costa’s signature Sea & Land Destinations concept transforms travel into a multidimensional journey, offering guests unique experiences both at sea and on land. This approach combines breathtaking views from the sea with rich cultural discoveries ashore, delivering a holiday that goes beyond the traditional cruise experience.
Mirco Vasallo: “Türkiye Holds Strategic Importance for Cruise Tourism and Costa”
Mirco Vasallo, Costa Cruises International Regional Director, stated:
“Türkiye is a market with great potential for cruise tourism and holds strategic importance for us. Turkish travelers increasingly seek quality, comfort, and discovery in their journeys. At Costa, we continue to bring our Italian hospitality, innovative Sea & Land itineraries, and rich gastronomy experiences to the Turkish market with greater strength. As we make a strong start to the 2026 summer season, we will continue to grow in this market with our future plans.”
Beyond the 2026 summer season, Costa Cruises is also drawing attention with its diverse upcoming itineraries. In the winter season, routes across the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean will offer travelers year-round opportunities to explore natural beauty and cultural richness. The Canary Islands promise spring-like weather all year, volcanic landscapes, and ocean adventures; Mediterranean itineraries highlight the cultural capitals of Southern Europe and North Africa; while the Caribbean offers white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and a tropical atmosphere for those seeking warm destinations in winter.
Costa also continues to enhance onboard experiences to maximize guest satisfaction. One of the latest highlights is the Day & Night Buffet, offering rich and flexible gastronomic options around the clock. Inspired by Italian cuisine and enriched with international flavors, Costa’s culinary offerings turn the cruise experience into a gastronomic journey.
On the digital side, Costa Cruises announced that the Costa App will be available in Turkish starting September 2026, enabling Turkish guests to access services more easily and quickly before and during their trips.
With this event in Türkiye, Costa Cruises aims not only to inspire guests but also to strengthen partnerships, contribute to the local tourism ecosystem, and support the growth of cruise tourism in the region.
