Celebrating 43 Years and Embracing Global Transformation

Geopolitical Developments and Trade Implications
Kıran discussed diplomatic efforts led by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the ongoing Russia–Ukraine war, and the recent peace declaration signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding the Zangezur Corridor. He noted the potential impact of these developments on regional stability and international trade.
U.S. Tariffs and Competitive Pressures
Kıran shared updates on the gradual phasing out of U.S. trade tariffs, detailing new rates for key regions and countries. He also addressed inflation trends in Turkey and the Central Bank’s recent interest rate cuts, stressing the importance of strong fiscal policy tools in navigating economic challenges.

On August 1, IMEAK DTO signed a protocol with the General Directorate for the Protection of Natural Assets to conduct feasibility studies for boatbuilding and mooring zones along Turkey’s coasts. Kıran also previewed the upcoming IMO MEPC meeting in October, where the Net Zero Framework proposal will be voted on—potentially introducing major cost burdens but also strategic opportunities for green transformation.

He also highlighted preparations for the inaugural Bodrum Boat Show, to be held October 15–19 in cooperation with Muğla Metropolitan Municipality.
