RMK Marine Proudly Launched T. Florya, Built for Ditaş Tankers
RMK Marine, one of Türkiye’s leading shipyards, has successfully launched T. Florya, the first of the new-generation 12,000 DWT twin chemical tanker projects being built for Ditaş Tankers.

The ceremony, held at RMK Marine’s state-of-the-art shipyard in Istanbul, was honoured by Director General of Maritime Affairs Ünal Baylan, Deputy for Maritime Transport of Saudi Arabia Transport General Authority Essam Alammari of as well as senior executives from Koç Holding, Tüpraş and Ditaş Tankers. Speaking at the ceremony, RMK Marine CEO Dr. Utku Alanç stated: “Through this project, we take pride in once again demonstrating the strong collaboration between two well-established Turkish maritime companies and the high level reached by the Turkish engineering.”
The 125-meter-long T. Florya Chemical Tanker has been meticulously designed by Delta Marine with an advanced engineering approach, aiming for high operational efficiency. Developed with a strong focus on safety, cargo flexibility, and performance criteria, T. Florya is equipped with the technical infrastructure to meet diverse operational needs, international maritime standards, and modern systems integration positioning it for an active role in global chemical transportation operations.
Ditaş Tankers General Manager Çağatay Ölken stated at the ceremony: “T. Florya is not only a new addition to our fleet, but also a tangible reflection of our focus on operational excellence, efficiency, and sustainability. This step, taken in line with our objective to further strengthen our young, modern, and high-performance fleet, enhances our competitive strength. With its methanol-ready infrastructure, T. Florya will play a significant role in our low-carbon shipping vision and strengthen our capability to adapt to alternative fuels. Realized through local engineering and strong collaborations, this project also supports the global positioning of the Turkish maritime industry. In the period ahead, we will continue our investments with determination, focusing on environmental responsibility, safety, and operational efficiency.”
A Strategic Step for Turkish Maritime Industry
Following the completion of its sea trials, T. Florya is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2026 and will represent a significant milestone in the fleet expansion of Ditaş Tankers. This project not only marks the building of a new vessel but also symbolizes a strong step toward elevating engineering, quality, and safety standards within the Turkish shipbuilding industry.
With its design optimized for methanol fuel usage and its main engine configured to be convertible into a dual‑fuel system capable of operating on methanol as well, the T. Florya Chemical Tanker further underscores RMK Marine and Ditaş Tankers’ vision for sustainability, environmental responsibility, and a forward-looking green transformation.
