Türk P&I Takes Part in IUMI 2026
Türk P&I Sigorta participated in IUMI 2026, where the global maritime insurance agenda was discussed, highlighting the impact of seafarers’ working conditions on safety, risk management and loss prevention.
More than 800 marine insurers from different countries around the world came together at IUMI (International Union of Marine Insurance) 2026. At the event, important developments affecting marine insurance and the industry’s future agenda were discussed.
At this important gathering, which was also attended by Türk P&I Sigorta General Manager Ufuk Teker, Türk P&I Sigorta Technical Group Manager Çiğdem Temelli participated as a speaker in the panel addressing the working conditions of seafarers.
During the panel, it was emphasized that seafarers’ well-being is not only a humanitarian issue, but is also important in terms of safety, risk management and loss prevention. Attention was drawn to the impact of fatigue, working conditions and psychological pressure on operational risks, while it was assessed that insurers can contribute not only after a loss occurs, but also through a preventive risk management approach.
It was stated that Türk P&I, which took part in the organization where major industry issues were discussed, continues to share its knowledge and experience on international marine insurance platforms and contribute to the development of the industry.
