Turkey and Saudi Arabia have signed a bilateral agreement under the framework of STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers). With this agreement, Turkish seafarers are now eligible to work aboard Saudi Arabian-flagged vessels.

In its official statement, DGM emphasized: “We continue to strengthen the presence of Turkish seafarers in international waters.”

Saudi Arabia has become the 39th country with which Turkey has signed an STCW agreement. This development not only expands global employment opportunities for Turkish maritime professionals but also reinforces Turkey’s international cooperation in the maritime sector.
