Two New Tugboats from Med Marine to Noatum Maritime

Following the agreement finalized in August, the vessels were simultaneously delivered from MED MARINE’s Ereğli Shipyard.

These next-generation tugboats have been designed to meet the demanding requirements of terminal escort operations, where high levels of safety and power are essential. As LNG-compatible Terminal Escort Tugs, ALNOUF and ALYASAT 1 measure 32 meters in length and deliver an impressive bollard pull of 80 tonnes. They also comply with FIFI-1 firefighting standards and are equipped for multi-purpose operations such as towing, escorting, pushing, mooring, and firefighting.

During construction, special safety systems and emergency evacuation protocols were implemented to ensure the vessels can operate in high-security environments such as LNG terminals. At the heart of both tugboats lies an azimuth stern drive propulsion system, powered by twin diesel engines connected to Z-drive units. This configuration provides exceptional manoeuvrability and strong performance under challenging port conditions.
