New Security Advisory for Turkish-Flagged Vessels
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has issued a new security advisory, urging Turkish-flagged vessels to remain vigilant against potential threats.

In its statement, the Ministry reminded that ISPS Code Security Level 3 continues to be in effect for Turkish-flagged ships operating in or near Israeli and Palestinian ports. This measure aims to enhance onboard security during port stays and ensure early threat detection.
Regional Threats Highlighted The statement also noted that since the onset of Israeli attacks on Gaza, armed groups in Yemen have launched assaults on vessels in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, the Gulf of Aden, and surrounding waters. These attacks have primarily targeted ships linked to Western companies with ties to Israel. Some vessels have reportedly been sunk or seized, with casualties and detentions among crew members.
Expanding Risk Scope Recent intelligence suggests that these groups may not limit their actions to Israeli-linked ships alone. They have issued warnings indicating that vessels owned or operated by companies with commercial ties to Israel could be targeted, regardless of their flag or country of origin.
Ministry’s Call to Action The Ministry called on Turkish shipowners and operators to implement all necessary security measures on vessels navigating high-risk areas, emphasizing the importance of protecting both citizens and companies from potential harm.
