Stella Tanker Signs Construction Agreement with Chinese Shipyard
Strategic Fleet Expansion with Zhejiang Yongxin Shipping Co., Ltd.

Stella Tanker Maritime Operations Inc., one of Turkey’s new-generation maritime companies, has signed a shipbuilding agreement with Zhejiang Yongxin Shipping Co., Ltd., located in Taizhou, China, for the construction of 3 + 1 units of next-generation 7,300 DWT duplex stainless steel chemical tankers. The initiative aims to strengthen the company’s fleet and enhance its competitive edge in the international transport market.
The agreement, signed on August 23, marks a critical step in Stella Tanker’s growth strategy and long-term investment commitment to the global maritime industry. Each vessel, with a carrying capacity of 7,300 tons, is designed to safely transport a wide range of specialized chemical and petroleum products.
According to Stella Tanker’s official statement, the newly built tankers will be equipped to meet the latest technological standards and environmental regulations in the global maritime sector. The vessels will comply with the latest IMO (International Maritime Organization) environmental protocols, including the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) and Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII). They will also feature energy-efficient systems to reduce carbon footprint and fuel consumption, contributing to sustainable maritime practices.
Additionally, the duplex stainless steel cargo tanks will enable the vessels to carry complex and diverse cargoes, offering enhanced operational flexibility and efficiency.
Commenting on the agreement, Stella Tanker Chairman Capt. Coşkun Ağca stated:
“This newbuild agreement with Yongxin Shipping represents a significant step in our fleet modernization and capacity expansion goals. It marks the first phase of our medium-term planning. These next-generation duplex chemical tankers combine operational excellence, eco-friendly technologies, and top-tier safety standards. By adding these vessels to our fleet, we will offer our clients more flexible, reliable, and sustainable logistics solutions, further strengthening our position in the industry.”

The first vessel under the agreement is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2027, with all ships expected to be integrated into the fleet and enter active service by mid-2027.
