In an era where geopolitical tensions are reshaping global trade routes and maritime operations, Europort 2025 provides a pivotal platform for the international maritime community to convene, exchange ideas, and collectively steer the rapidly transforming industry. Rotterdam, one of the world's most significant port cities, has completed preparations for EUROPORT, the Shipbuilding and Supply Industry Exhibition, which has been running for over 80 years. Organized by AHOY Rotterdam from November 4 to 7, this year marks the exhibition’s 42nd anniversary.

The 42nd Europort exhibition, hosted at Rotterdam Ahoy, will focus on four core themes shaping the future of shipping: Energy Transition, Digitalisation, Ship Finance, and Human Capital. The event will feature an inspiring and comprehensive programme designed to accelerate innovation, facilitate collaboration, and promote sustainability.

According to Europort Director Raymond Siliakus (Rotterdam Ahoy), "With a comprehensive programme that fosters open dialogue among sector experts, this year's exhibition will be the largest Europort ever in terms of international participation." He added, "Europort is committed to promoting innovations that have the potential to create positive change in the sector. An integral part of this goal is to highlight promising developments within the scope of the exhibition, and at the same time, inspire the next generation of maritime professionals to secure the long-term success and sustainability of the maritime sector."

Throughout the fair, the future of the maritime industry, guided by sustainable policies, will be scrutinised across the four main themes through conferences, seminars, and B2B business development meetings, with innovative solution projects being recognised with awards.

4 CORE THEMES Shaping EUROPORT Rotterdam 2025

1. Energy Transition: Making Sustainable Waves Daily presentations and panels held at the “GREEN STAGE” in Hall 6 will shed light on developments shaped by environmental technologies and global regulations, amidst the growing importance of decarbonisation. The “Safe Maritime Decarbonisation Seminar,” organized by the Maritime Technologies Forum (MTF), will present early findings from MTF's forthcoming report while featuring innovative solutions for low- and zero-emission shipping.

2. Digitalisation: Steering the Smart Course Designed in collaboration with SeasHorizons, the “Digitalisation Zone” in Hall 6 stands out with participant booths showcasing solutions for the digital world and the Smart Stage presentation area for sharing this knowledge. Daily panels on data-driven operations, automation, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity will address a broad audience—from ship operators and tech startups to port authorities and regulatory bodies—exploring how digital innovation is remodelling the maritime sector.

3. Ship Finance: Funding the Future Against a backdrop of geopolitical instability, economic uncertainty, and regulatory pressure, the Mare Forum Ship Finance Conference will take place concurrently with Europort for the 24th time on Wednesday, November 5. This prestigious event will gather leading shipowners, financiers, regulators, and investors. The Ship Finance Pavilion in Hall 5 will host daily presentations by industry leaders and B2B meetings for consulting on finance, ship loans, and subsidy opportunities.

4. Human Capital: New Generation Mariners Meet Professionals Implementing Inspiring Solutions Europort 2025 continues its focus on the human dimension of maritime. The Young KVNR event will connect young professionals with senior executives from Dutch maritime companies, while the #YoungEuroport programme will enable students and young professionals new to the sector to directly interact with exhibitors and industry experts. These initiatives aim to inspire and support the future generations of the maritime industry.

GREEN4SEA / SMART4SEA / CAREER4SEA EUROPORT AWARDS

Europort’s tradition of rewarding progress continues this year with the SAFETY4SEA Awards. The GREEN4SEA, SMART4SEA, and CAREER4SEA Awards will honour organisations that are making the sector greener, smarter, and more inclusive.

In collaboration with SAFETY4SEA, Europort is once again hosting a special awards series focusing on three key themes: digital maritime, energy transition, and human capital. These awards aim to promote sustainability, recognise excellence, innovation, and best practices, and raise the profile of the maritime sector among stakeholders and future maritime professionals. A short panel session featuring nominees and winners will follow the awards ceremony.

A total of 15 awards will be presented across the three main themes during the fair, with five categories for each theme:

  • The GREEN4SEA – EUROPORT Awards ceremony will be held on November 5, honouring organisations contributing in the fields of Clean Shipping, Energy Transition, Green Technology, Green Initiative, and Ship Design.
  • The SMART4SEA – EUROPORT Awards ceremony, taking place on November 6, will be presented to organisations excelling in Smart Shipping, Cybersecurity, E-Navigation, Technology, and Autonomous Shipping.

RECORD PARTICIPATION from Turkish Shipbuilding Sector at Europort Rotterdam

The Turkish shipbuilding sector is increasingly representing our country and industry with a growing number of participating companies at international maritime fairs. This proud trend turns into a full synergy with Turkish visitors and representatives from distributor companies. This year in Rotterdam, with the participation and support of GYHİB (Ship, Yacht & Services Exporters' Association) and GİSBİR (Turkish Shipbuilders' Association), 74 Turkish companies will represent our country with their individual stands and within the Türkiye Pavilion. Many visionary maritime professionals representing the Turkish shipbuilding industry—including shipyards offering new build and repair/maintenance services, ship supply and service companies, and brand-name products and services from our sub-industry—have secured their places in Rotterdam. We are meeting all our sector representatives and leaders at Europort Rotterdam to crown this record participation.

EUROPORT ROTTERDAM OPENING PROGRAMME / OPENING SESSION / NOVEMBER 4, 2025

The opening programme will be held as a session with trending content and guests.

SESSION TOPIC: SEA OF OPPORTUNITIES... FULL SPEED AHEAD WITH PAST EXPERIENCES WHERE GLOBAL CRISES TURNED INTO OPPORTUNITIES...

Europort Rotterdam will open its doors for the 42nd time for the global maritime gathering on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The opening ceremony will take place with the attendance of national and international protocol and sector leaders. The summit programme, drawing inspiration, energy, and vision from the 1920s crisis—cited as the greatest economic bottleneck of the past, which was successfully turned into an opportunity—will be a powerful opening featuring commentary from industry leaders.

A century later, we are again on the verge of a period where great changes bring new opportunities, especially for the European maritime technology sector. Under the theme "Opportunities Brought by the Roaring Twenties – Sea of Opportunities," a parallel will be drawn with the 1920s. You are invited to a legendary success story shaped by turbulence and uncertainties, yet also by creativity, breakthroughs, and a desire for renewal.
