Strategic Partnership Between Turkish Shipowners Association and ARI Drones Technology
The Turkish Shipowners Association (TAB) has signed a strategic agreement with ARI Drones Technology as part of its digital transformation vision.

This collaboration marks a milestone in the maritime sector, as TAB partners with ARI Drones Technology—the developer of the FIBO-1 Digital Freeboard Measurement Device, which will be used for the first time in the industry.
The launch event for the partnership took place on August 26 at Teknopark Istanbul.
Attending the signing ceremony were TAB Chairman Cihan Ergenç, Vice Chairman Murat Er, Board Member Hüseyin Konan, Secretary General Hüseyin Çınar, and Serdar Faik Atukeren, Executive Chairman of TAB’s Center of Excellence.
In his speech at the ceremony, Cihan Ergenç stated:
“The use of the newly developed next-generation Freeboardmeter (FiBo-1), which has completed its R&D phase and is now a digital measurement device, will offer significant advantages to our fleets by enabling accurate and reliable draft measurements. We signed this strategic agreement both to achieve this goal and to support the growth of R&D companies within our technoparks. We always strive to maintain this synergy in our relationships with universities, R&D firms, and industry stakeholders.”
FiBo-1 measures the distance between the waterline and the deck level without physical contact, providing high accuracy, speed, and safety in critical operational processes such as loading control, level analysis, sounding, and vessel stability.
Through this partnership, TAB members will be able to acquire the FiBo-1 device under favorable conditions. Additionally, coordinated efforts will be made to develop future versions of the product in line with the evolving needs of the industry.
